Been to a few pizza spots in Houston and realized we hadn’t tried this one yet so visited for lunch. First time here, not busy when we arrived although more started to come in as the afternoon progressed. Fun, rustic set up with mixed seating and a good amount of outdoor seating (too hot for that) -focal point is an area with steps (could be a play area) and a big screen TV. World Cup Futbol was on and it looks like this is a spot where you can watch Futbol if there is a match. Pies with enticing topping combinations made it hard to pick just two. We ordered the Dream Catcher and Troublemaker. Dream Catcher-you had me at Goat cheese and Truffle and the Fior Di Latte took it over the top! Troublemaker was also enjoyed with the Chicken Italian sausage which is not available everywhere. Bonus-house made tomato sauce-which was delicious. A couple of salads and desserts so it’s all about the pizza here and that’s just fine. Service was upbeat and engaged. They do have another location in the Heights. I would say one of the best pizza spots in Htown. Don’t miss the Dream Catcher!

The food here is excellent—I ordered their top two best-selling pizzas and they definitely lived up to the hype. However, finding the location was a bit of a challenge as there isn’t a sign on the outside of the building, and it’s tucked away. It’s located in a busy business district, which makes the lack of signage a little inconvenient. Price-wise, it’s on the higher side, but the service was relatively quick; I had two fresh pizzas in about 17 minutes. The live music was a great touch and added a nice vibe to the experience. I’d definitely consider coming back, though it might not be a regular spot for me.

We decided to spend this very special day surrounded by friends and family at Gypsy Poet. We couldn’t have chosen a better place to celebrate my niece beating cancer! The pizzas are the best in town, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the staff deserves a special shout-out. We were a group of more than 30 people, and they were incredibly fast, organized, and attentive. They did an amazing job making our celebration even more special. Highly recommend!

Awesome spot tucked away in an eclectic pocket of midtown. Pizza was incredible, line out the door on a Sunday afternoon. We enjoyed two fantastic pizzas outside with our dogs. Crust was amazing, sauce is good, cheese is the perfect amount, and the toppings are high quality. Very happy we found this place!

First time at the hyped Gypsy Poet. We got the margherita “the queen” and paid about 17 bucks. It was good but truly nothing extraordinary. There is certainly better pizza in the city. I like that the use a brick oven pizza and make every pizza to order. they have vegetarian, vegan and gluten free friendliness— but again it’s nothing special here. As far as the atmosphere, I enjoyed it, it could be a nice hangout spot. I would see myself enjoying the weather outside in the warm weather. Parking is $5 unless you find somewhere to park alongside the street!
