I hired PoolTec because I wanted the accountability, communication, and reporting that supposedly comes with a larger professional company. Unfortunately, my experience was the opposite. Problems started almost immediately. I requested not to be enrolled in autopay after initially providing payment information, but my account was charged automatically anyway. I was also told a technician's visit was only a diagnostic and would not count as my first paid service, but I was later charged for it. The more serious issues involved communication and equipment handling. The chlorinator feeder tubing line was damaged during service and left actively leaking. The service report still indicated everything was normal, and I was never proactively informed of the issue. I only discovered it 2 days later after the landscaper alerted me and I reviewed my security camera footage. I ended up having to fix it myself since I was alerted about the leak on Friday afternoon during memorial day weekend, so I couldn't get ahold of anyone until Tuesday the following week. After raising the issue, I learned there was a known condition causing the chlorinator body to rotate during servicing. Despite the first leak incident, the underlying problem was never properly addressed. The same technician later serviced the same chlorinator, camera footage again showed the chlorinator body rotating, and ANOTHER, much bigger leak occurred afterward. What concerns me most is that the reports became impossible to trust. On one visit, the technician personally texted me that the pool water level was low and that he was shutting down the system to protect the equipment because nobody was available to add water. That information never appeared in the official service report, which again indicated everything was fine. If a technician is identifying important operational issues directly by text but those issues are not reflected in the written reports, then the reports have very little value to an owner trying to monitor a property remotely. The final straw was reviewing security footage and observing the technician urinating on my property during a service visit. I understand outdoor service work can present challenges, but I found that behavior extremely unprofessional and after everything that had happened, I considered it disrespectful. The customer service representatives I spoke with were polite and tried to help. My issue is with the company's operational communication, accountability, and quality control. Because the company is so large, it was extremely difficult to determine who was responsible for what, get consistent answers, or have anyone take ownership of recurring problems. I have since hired another pool service and canceled my account despite their offer of a free month.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Outstanding Service from Blake B! I’ve been using PoolTec for my pool maintenance in the Houston area for several months now, and I have to say that Blake B is one of the best pool technicians I’ve ever worked with. Blake is always punctual, professional, and incredibly thorough. He takes the time to check the water chemistry, clean the filters, skim the surface, and inspect all the equipment — never rushing through the job. He’s also great at explaining things clearly, whether it’s a small adjustment to the chemicals or a recommendation for preventing future issues. Thanks to Blake, my pool has stayed crystal clear and perfectly balanced all season, even with the Texas heat! What really stands out is his friendly attitude and genuine care for doing the job right. He treats my pool like it’s his own and always follows up to make sure everything is running smoothly. Maria and Miguel Doguis are a husband and wife team that work for Pooltec, a repair and pool maintenance company here in Houston. Maria cleans and maintains our pool weekly, and Miguel is our go-to guy if we ever have equipment issues. They are both friendly, reliable, knowledgeable and dependable! Maria is very attentive to details and does a thorough job of cleaning our pool and spa, and Miguel always comes quickly if we ever have mechanical problems. Today Blake B. did our first routine weekly pool clean since my wife and I signed up with Pool Tec. He came across as very personable and professional at his work. It will take some time to see how dependable and consistent he is at cleaning our pool. It will also take time to see how well he understands the operation pools and their water chemistry. He is off to an excellent start! Hank

I would like to highlight Mike! Mike has been taking care of our pool for a while now and he has been amazing!!! He pays attention to detail and keeps our pool amazing! I think he goes above beyond because when I ask him to do little extras for upcoming pool parties he happily takes care of everything! I want to keep Mike for forever. :) He’s amazing!!! We are really blessed to have him!
