I participated in a clinical research study here for my social anxiety for a little over a year. I was very nervous going into it at first as this was my first time doing anything like this. Seems a little silly looking back, the staff here is so friendly and caring. I mostly dealt with Hannah, Cristin and Gabriela, all were really nice and did a great job at making sure the whole process was comfortable. They always explained what was going to happen beforehand, in the moment and answered any questions I had. They were flexible and worked around my schedule so I didn't have to struggle to make it to the appointments. Also, if you're someone like me who is riddled with anxieties, it should help to know that the office itself is clean, well organized and very quiet; It's positively relaxing to be in. It's also located in a great spot near Memorial Mall and a strip of Asian grocery stores and restaurants. (Yum) Oh, and the most important part, I'm not as socially anxious as I was before going into the study. I feel like a whole new person, talking to people when I'm out and about. Sometimes it still catches me by surprise how I don't go into complete panic mode when a stranger approaches me! All in all, I had an amazing experience! ☺️

Hello my name is Nicholas Hubbard I am writing this review because I do not want anyone else to go into TMS treatment without fully understanding that, in my experience, there can be serious and life-altering consequences. I went into this treatment trusting that I was making a decision that would help me. Instead, after undergoing theta burst TMS, my life changed in a way I never expected. Since then, I have struggled with severe symptoms that have affected my ability to live normally, including intense anxiety, derealization, nervous system overactivation, and a constant fight to feel like myself again. What has been one of the hardest parts of this experience is feeling like the impact this treatment had on me was not acknowledged or taken seriously. I feel like I was not adequately warned about the possibility of experiencing such severe and lasting effects, and I have been left dealing with the consequences every single day. I am sharing my story because people deserve to be informed and to ask thorough questions before making decisions about their health. Treatment decisions are personal, and everyone’s experience may be different, but my experience was devastating. I trusted this process, and I am now living with symptoms that have taken away so much of my quality of life. And when I confronted dr . Cho about it and told him what was going on he totally downplayed and literally asked if I’ve ever been tested for schizophrenia. He clearly did not care and didn’t want to take accountability for anything. And he will do the same to you if something goes wrong. There’s even a whole tms injury page on Facebook full of people that have been battling the negative side effects of tms for years now. I suffer everyday because of a treatment I was pressured into doing. I wouldn’t wish this upon my worst enemy and that’s not an exaggeration. I hope my experience encourages better communication, more transparency about risks, and more support for patients who experience unexpected outcomes.

Finding Houston Mind and Brain has been a life changing experience for me. The staff are excellent. Ashley, the receptionist, greets you warmly with a great smile and always makes you feel comfortable. The nursing staff, Jada, is comforting and supportive. i always feel safe, secure and listened to. Jennifer, Nurse Practioner, is as dedicated as they come. She’s always on top of her game and makes the process as easy as possible. Raymond, my therapist,is gentle and kind. He listens intently and gives great advice. If you’re in need of mental health services, I advise you to come here. They are the very best at what they do.

I cannot say enough kind words about the positivity of this experience. Admittedly I was a bit skeptical because this was new to me but it was absolutely so very interesting and also excellent that I was paid to participate in this clinical trial. I was interested in participating in this because I wanted to see if the nasal spray being tested would benefit me because I am an anxious person. For me it was absolutely intriguing and it was very informative at the same time. I would say it helped me better in certain situations. I would welcome the opportunity to participate in anything that you all might have going forward so please do not hesitate to contact me. Thank you again for choosing me for this opportunity and I hope to hear from you in the future.

My experience with Houston Mind and Brain was one of the worst psychiatric care experiences I have ever had. I initially came seeking help during a very vulnerable time, hoping to receive thoughtful guidance and a treatment plan that would actually support my mental health. Unfortunately, that is not what I received. Instead, the approach felt like a revolving door of medications—prescribing one pill after another with little meaningful evaluation or concern for how the changes were affecting me. When one medication didn’t work, another was quickly prescribed, without addressing the root issues or taking the time to properly assess my condition. Mental health treatment is not something that should be treated like trial-and-error without proper care and attention. By the end of my experience here, I was actually doing significantly worse mentally than when I first walked through their doors. That is incredibly concerning for a place that is supposed to help people heal. The entire process felt impersonal and costly, leaving me feeling like my struggles were reduced to prescriptions and follow-up appointments rather than genuine care. I strongly encourage anyone considering this clinic to do thorough research before booking an appointment. I wish I had done the same before spending a significant amount of time and money on an experience that ultimately made my situation worse. If it were possible to give zero stars, I would.
