Enjoyed a business lunch at Clark's per their recommendation because it was my first time at the seafood restaurant. Definitely ask for crab cakes (plenty of fresh crab meat), clam chowder (excellent flavor) and key lime pie (VERY good) at Clark's - and our waiter was attentive yet astute in knowing when not to disturb our conversations. My only criticism of the excellent meal and experience is the bread. Though fresh, the loaves were hard to cut (had to pill pieces) and more difficult to chew.
We came here for a birthday dinner. I called ahead for a reservation and had to hold for a few minutes, but the person taking my reservation was friendly and helpful. I think they have valet parking but we didn't see them. We dined inside on a weeknight. We started with a mimosa and a glass of Champagne. They have an impressive list of custom cocktails and some nice wines. We asked them to dilute the mimosa with more OJ and they brought us a fresh one; the Perrier Jouet Champagne by the glass was excellent and I thoughtit quite reasonable at $28 / glass. The first course were some East Coast oysters, and a salad. The food was excellent - the oysters were fresh and they identified each one and its region; the salad was very good although the large butter lettuce pieces required a bit of cutting and chopping down. We then had the fettuccine and clams, Halibut grilled, cauliflower, and grits. All of the main items were very good, fresh, flavorful and spot on. The fettuccine and clams dish was requested to be made not spicy, and they accommodated us gladly - very eager to please. The service from Lorenzo was excellent even though he had 5 tables, and it was nice to see that the servers worked as a team. We were too full for dessert but their selections sounded divine. Total with tax and drinks was $194. It was very nice... we will return. I gave the atmosphere 1 less star because on the tables with white tablecloths they put butcher paper on top... I find that tacky.
Delightful dinner on the terrace in fine weather. Very well attended to by the knowledgeable and helpful staff. Very interesting, eclectic wine list including a Raventos cava and a dry white from Greece. Crudo was a big favourite. Massive lobster roll with a mountain of slaw. No room for dessert, sadly.
Had a dinner here for my birthday and Jen R. was amazing! She guided us through the menu recommending dishes and drinks to pair. She was attentive to our table and was fun to talk to. She even helped get me a great birthday photo. Five stars to the food and staff. The raspberry point and murder point oysters were my favorite! The wedge salad and ceviche will make me return. And the birthday key lime pie was divine !
We went to Clark’s on a Saturday afternoon, sat at the bar and had a great time with great food. We tried raw, dressed and baked oysters from various places around the country and found out we like Alabama oysters best. We finished with the crudo plate and loved it. Can’t wait to go back and try other menu items
