The service and atmosphere were great, everything else was very average. The oysters were pretty bad, I know they’re not in season but they were sitting in zero brine, just dry as heck. My shrimp and grits as you can see from the picture were sad looking. The grits were that flavorful and had a bad consistency, at least the shrimp were cooked well but after paying like 30 bucks you’d think you’d get more than 5. The key lime pie was trash, crappy consistency, the ratio of tartness to sweetness was off and it was more butter than anything. Not pictured were the “crab cakes”, I wish I took a pic. They were the thinnest I’ve ever encountered, basically the height of a smash burger patty. It was hilarious cause I almost busted out laughing when the waitress put them down. Everyone working there was great tho, it’s just the food makes it to where I would never come back.

Great spot for seafood. The waitress was very friendly, helpful and attentive. All the food was good but would say the best was the corn and crab bisque. The crab cakes are also really good and flavorful. The Chilean Sea Bass was grilled perfectly along with the green beans; however, I wasn't a big fan of the sauce on the fish so would ask for a butter sauce next time. Overall, a good first experience.

It’s very rare that my family all agree on their impression of the food, service and atmosphere of a restaurant but in this case we all give Eugene’s 5 stars. A special mention to the hostess and waitstaff who were all accommodating and very attentive. The food was flavorful, cooked perfectly, and the aesthetic was celebratory and comfortable. We are already thinking about corporate dinners as there is a nice wine list and something sure to please everyone!

Came for an impromptu lunch - just trying out the place because it’s close by. Has an old school vibe to it and sat at the bar for lunch. Ordered the stuffed shrimp with onion rings and dirty rice. All of the food was good. The shrimp (2) were enough because they were truly stuffed - minimal breading and lightly fried. I think the O rings are a big deal - they’re definitely good and they served plenty. Had the house Pinot g which was perfectly fine as well.

I had a bitter after taste leaving the restaurant heading home. Not sure why. I ordered two items for HRW Saturday brunch menu: 1) crab stuffed jalapeños and 2) Kyle’s crab salad. Both were mediocre at best. Bacon saved the day for the salad since the dressing wasn’t doing the job. Nothing was outstanding.
