Let me just say after seeing the food on instagram and the hype I was so excited to go try them out. I am highly disappointed. I ordered meatloaf meal with Mac n cheese and green beans. The meatloaf had garlic mashed potatoes underneath. That was what my 2 girls ate and they enjoyed it just Mac wasn’t good.I ordered the fried fish with cabbage and yams. I hate to say the cabbage was the worse tasting cabbage I have ever had. The yams subpar and the fish was just as bad as the cabbage and undercooked. My husband had Cajun Turkey wings he rated 4/10 stated it was dry and lacked seasoning. Mac n cheese was bad stated he’s had better at Golden Corral! His other side was also yams. I spoke on that already. An order of fried wings(3) also was not tasty. This was such a disappointment. I hate to even leave bad reviews but that’s how upset this made me. $81.00 down the drain now I still need to look for something to eat. I had pictures but nowhere to add them here.

My husband and I just had to try Annie B’s Southern Cuisine (Soul Y Mex Kitchen) located at 9603 FM 1960 W, Houston, TX 77070! First things first—there is going to be a wait. Mrs. Annie B just had her grand reopening yesterday, and today was only day two. Trust me when I say it is absolutely worth the wait! What impressed me immediately was the hospitality. Mrs. Annie B personally came outside to check on customers waiting in line and even offered us water while we waited. Once inside, we were welcomed by beautiful gospel music and a warm, inviting atmosphere. There are benches and tables available while you wait for your order, along with plenty of dining space including tables, booths, and high-top seating. We spent about $82 for three plates, and YES—it was worth every single penny! Here’s what we ordered: • Meatloaf with mashed potatoes, Mary’s Mac, and yams
• Fried catfish with black-eyed peas and collard greens
• Oxtails with green beans BABY, let me tell you about these oxtails! The meat was literally falling off the bone. The catfish was seasoned to perfection, fried crispy, and not greasy at all. The meatloaf was amazing—tender, flavorful, and topped with just the right touch of sweetness. Every single side was delicious. No complaints whatsoever! And honey, the Kool-Aid was SO GOOD! I got the grape flavor and it did not disappoint. They did run out of cornbread, but they made up for it by giving us another drink, which was greatly appreciated. A huge thank you to Mrs. Annie B and her amazing staff for the wonderful hospitality and incredible food. My husband and I drove all the way from Huntsville just to try it, and I can honestly say it was 100% worth the trip. We’ll definitely be back!

Went for the 1st time, after church, on a Sunday, so I expected a little wait when I drove up and saw the line. Oh was a I wrong. I stood in line 49 min total to order food. We stood outside about 30 min and the remaining on the inside. The distance from the door to the coubter was shorter, but the lack of urgency in taking orders caused further delay. Once at the counter to place my order, they were out of turkey wings. One may think after placing an order you may expext to wait maybe 20-30 min but I was wrong again. Arrived at 3. Order was placed at 2:49 and I didnt receive my order until 4:12. After waiting all this time, I was so disappointed when I tried the food. The porchop was very tough. The food lacked seasoning and even after trying to add seasoning, it still wasn't good. The greens had a bitter taste. No words for the mac and after placing the porkchop in the oven for another 30 min, it was still tough. I wasnt able to eat the food. With all of this being said, the customer service was horrible. When I asked the cashier, "do you guys not inform customers when yll are out of items, as they were out of the turkey wings, and she nonchalantly said no with a little attitude. I asked, so its ok for customers to stand in line nearly an hr, like we have done to fine out yll are sold out of items. I was looked at like oh well. I replied well that would be the courteous thing to do, as many peepole may not eat pork or beef. After waiting approx an hr, i asked 2 servers the estiminated time of complering. Both atopped and listrned to the question, but neither followed through to provide an answer. I wanted the food to be good bit I was disappointed. However the was cool.

First time trying this place and it exceeded my expectations! I tried the meatloaf over mashed potatoes, my two sides were mac and cheese, and broccoli rice. All meals come with cornbread, which was delicious! I also bought their banana pudding, which was amazing! They give out generous proportions and the food is full of flavor! I will definitely be going back. Keep in mind the time it opens 12pm and the lines start forming right away!

A friend recommended this place. This was my first time finally going. It took a long time to wait for our food BUT you have to have patience! When we got home, there were huge servings of delicious oxtails/ rice, candied yams, collard greens, cornbread dressing, and cornbread. EVERYTHING was VERY GOOD and worth the wait. I highly recommend but please, have patience waiting because if you like soul food, the wait is worth their tasty comfort food! Lol I was so full I will have dinner for 2 more days and I didn't even get to taste the peach cobbler! They staff were ask smiles and pleasant too. Support our businesses!
