Found this spot...it was so wonderful. It is soul food and not fast food. The staff was so great. Had shrimp and grits. So creamy and delicious. Salmon patties was real salmon and not from a can. Waffle and eggs made to perfection. Breakfast sandwich was so big could only finish half. Definitely recommend this place.

We had the best visit 4/27! We had the sweetest and most attentive waitress. The restaurant was clean. The seat cushions need some fixing though, way too high and uncomfortable. The food is phenomenal- it’s like you sat down at Granny’s table surrounded by all your slow cooked favorites she cooked on all day, that none of us have time to cook anymore. I almost cried tears tasting this food and missing my sweet southern Granny and her cooking. The collard greens were just like hers and they left in some pot licker juice for the cornbread which made me so happy. The Mac and cheese is so creamy and the noodles cooked perfectly, not mushy. The meatloaf so tender and seasoned perfectly with that little crust on the bottom like my Granny’s. The candied yams, oh my! Each plate came with delicious, moist, and fresh cornbread that we appreciated to eat with our greens. My husband got smothered chicken, it’s bone in chicken, tender and fall apart. The gravy divine! The rice was crunchy though. We enjoyed every single bite! The portions were an equal value for the price. The desserts are homemade and fantastic! We got the peach cobbler and the pecan cake. The pecan cake was phenomenal with some coffee. The peach lemonade was so delicious but very sweet. I would have really like fresh brewed tea with no lemon rather than bottled tea.

I was in town for the weekend and wanted to try some soul food. Casey's Kitchen popped up on a google search. After looking at pictures & reviews we went in. Oh my goodness!!!! The shrimp & grits with bacon were so good and fillimg. My drink was fresh squeezed strawberry lemonade. It wasn't too sweet. I didn't drink it all & was able to take the rest with me. It was a little busy but it was Sunday after church & Easter Sunday so we knew it would be a wait. We were immediately seated but it took awhile to order; again it was busy so we understood. Great atmosphere. We were not disappointed at all. You get 3 sides. My cousin got the smothered pork chop with macaroni $ cheese, cabbage & yams. When I come back to Houston I will be stopping by.

Had the pleasure of meeting with owner Cassy and mom Wilhemina at Cassy Kitchen today. Tried the oxtail and gravy — soo delish! The service was great, with a smile to match. Definitely left with my tummy satisfied and my taste buds happy. Highly recommend this cozy spot!

Where can I start, the staff are young but the professionalism is on point. The food was delicious. My husband had chicken wings and waffles and I had the Cassy special (wheat toast, eggs, turkey bacon and the creamest grits) oooh dont let me forget the salmon bites. They were so flavorful. Thsts a new favorite. its like sunday at your grandma's house. No one was in a rush to leave, just listening to the great conversations and eating our food. We will definitely come back again and again.
