My husband and I found this on Google Maps the reviews said the jerk pasta was the best but I really didn’t like it. The presentation was really nice but the entrees were just too sweet for my preference. I thought it’ll be more savory. The cabbage didn’t have much flavor other than being spicy . If I go again I’ll probably try another dish but my husband really enjoyed their fried fish.
Great place to go that's open late night. Atmosphere and vibes were A-1. Appreciate the kind and excellent service from Sara and Daryl. And Chef Toya (although they wouldn't let me get the spelling of the full name 😂) did her thing. From the crispy seasoned chicken and fish, to the jerk chicken pasta, and the sides of cabbage, Mac and cheese, cabbage, and sweet potatoes casserole, she didn't miss. My only problem is they didn't have the lamb in stock tonight but if it's as good as the food I had, I can see why it sold out so quickly. Thank you and I highly recommend to anyone who is wondering if they should.
I’ve tried a lot of soul food spots in Houston and Goodies Soul Kitchen is easily one of the best. The fish was fresh, the mac and cheese actually had flavor, and the casserole yams tasted homemade instead of overly sugary. Portions were solid too. You can tell they care about the food here. Definitely coming back.
Freaking food is amazing. Lamb chop and pasta was next level. Jerk chicken, cabbage, and mac also 10/10, balance flavor. Appreciate the love, guys service is 10/10. Will take that drive again. You guys gained a customer.
THE BEST, like legit the best food truck around located in west downtown , they are open until 3 so perfect fit after bar too, the staff is very friendly and very efficient getting food out quick , get the goodie wings with the sweet potato casserole and Mac n cheese BANGING!!! I hit this spot once a week and it never disappoints
