First, let me the place shocked me when I got inside compared to the outside. The perfect example of don't judge a book by its cover. The atmosphere was spacious and clean and I love the setup of the food. The service provided by the staff was a smiles and very welcoming. The price for the value was on point. Last but least, the food was very soulful and delicious. Since, I've been in Texas for these 2 yrs, Mikki's has the best soulful I've tasted thus far. Great job and thank you for awesome southern hospitality Mikki's. ❤️

My experience at Mikki’s was outstanding! The food was absolutely delectable. I ordered the beef tips, and not only were they flavorful and cooked perfectly, but the portion size was generous and well worth it. What made the experience even more memorable was the exceptional customer service. In today’s world, where great customer service can sometimes feel like a lost art, it was refreshing to be welcomed and treated with genuine care and professionalism. Thank you to the entire team for providing such a wonderful dining experience. I will definitely be back and highly recommend Mikki’s to anyone looking for great food and outstanding service!

After 3+ years in Houston searching for soul food that reminds me of Atlanta, I finally found a solid spot at Mikki's Soul Food Cafe. I’ve been twice and ordered the meatloaf dinner both times. The meatloaf is well-seasoned, tender, and covered in a rich gravy that pairs perfectly with the fluffy rice. Portions are BIG, so while prices ($19.95–$23.95) seem a little high at first, it’s definitely worth it. First visit was excellent—especially the green beans (flavorful with bacon and onions). Second visit, the green beans had too many potatoes and not enough beans, and the mac and cheese was just too heavy for my taste. My main issue is the to-go packaging. The gravy is very liquidy and spilled into the bag during transport, making the container messy by the time I got back to work. A separate sealed container for the gravy would fix this easily. Overall, this is one of the best soul food spots I’ve found in Houston. I’ll definitely be back—and I’m bringing my mom next time.

Food review from Minnesota. Meatloaf was salty and the sauce was watered down. Yams were decent. My husband loved the yams. mac and cheese was okay. broccoli rice and cheese was flavorless. Customer service wasn’t a friendly environment. The cashier looked miserable and she had a bad attitude.

Once again a wonderful evening. Angel was at the end of the oxtails. Most places would just give the last few bits. But he went to the back and came out with a fresh pan to be sure I have a healthy serving. Boris kept my cup filled with kool-aid. Mikki’s, I was just here last week.
