I was made aware of restaurant on Instagram. Best soul food I have eaten in my 25 years in Houston. I have traveled to 44 states and 29 countries. I had catfish & shrimp combo with yams and greens (turkey). Seafood seasoned perfectly and served hot, greens and yams delicious, cornbread fluffy with a little sweet taste. When ordering they stated 30-35 minutes wait but food came in 20 minutes. On Saturday around 3:30 pm they had steady flow of customers, with nobody seem to complain about their food. I wish I had tried the Kool aid and strawberry cake. If you on Westheimer or in Galleria area it’s worth the stop. Price for my meal $28. No waitress at the time so you order/pickup at counter.

Some of the best soul food I've had besides at home. I was highly impressed we will definitely be back. I had Smothered pork chops, mac and cheese along with dirty rice and my bestie had fish and shrimp, Yams, okra, cabbage and we both had cornbread. Neither of us had any complaints, we were very pleasantly surprised. Now if you are in a hurry make sure you call ahead because the wait was quite a bit, but the food was worth the wait.

Today I got to finally try the food at this restaurant not the food truck. I had the seafood platter with green beans and macaroni and cheese with a side of spaghetti. The seafood platter came with two pieces of whiting fish, five pieces of shrimp, five pieces of chicken wings, which I substituted instead of the catfish. The food was amazing. The atmosphere was very welcoming, friendly and the servers were super sweet. The music was a 90’s R&B vibe for sure. My daughter was having a meltdown, they offered cookies and cakes, a piece of cake to calm her while we waited for the food. They gave me her food early so she could eat. I had grape Kool-Aid and water and it took me back to my childhood of drinking red or purple Kool-Aid. I would definitely go again. I wish I could’ve ate my food there, but I had to take it to go and even the food on the drive home held up. I would definitely come here again to me. The food was seasoned just right not too salty not too spicy. Also lemon cake was very good and moist as well.

I had a great experience at Soul Good restaurant. The establishment is clean, the staff is very nice and welcoming and they play a variety of good music. The food is fresh, well seasoned, and arrives to you hot. You surely get your money's worth. They had one job and they did not dissapoint. They delivered and understood the assignment. I will be back. I definitely recommend Soul Goode if you're looking for some good ole Soul food.

came to Houston from Atlanta looking for good soul food, and this place delivered! The food was hot, fresh, and delicious. Tiera and Lay provided outstanding customer service, and the atmosphere was great with good music. The Kool-Aid was a 10/10, and the wait wasn't long at all. I'll definitely be back!
