I cannot in good faith recommend the spa. I spent multiple days on different massages and the experience was consistently below average. Factor in the prices and the experience was frankly offensive. Value aside, the facilities are very basic and quite cramped. You cannot take an elevator directly from your room to the spa, you must go to the ground floor and switch elevators to get to the fifth floor. Upon arriving the experience was pleasant, the staff are all well spoken and friendly. However the spa itself is bare bones with a lovely pool, passable sauna but only two showers meaning a couple post-massage can occupy both leaving you waiting. The only refreshments on offer is water, self service tea, apples and some (very) dry crackers of some sort. I saw plates of strawberries belonging to another guest and when I asked I was told they were for couples only and they were not allowed to provide them to individuals guests. The Quiet Room is also a joke. For a hotel and spa of this calibre I'd have expected enforcement of the "quiet" part. Other guests were regularly playing loud music and videos from their phones which was incredibly disturbing. The provided gowns (proudly made in China) were passable but the plastic slippers were terrible for $250+ per session.

As some others have mentioned, the amenities should match the price of services. Even at a basic nail salon, mimosas are included free of charge but here they will charge you $17 for a simple champagne and orange juice. Water, tea and pretzels are all you get with a $300 facial. The facial itself was lovely however, and I commend the aesthetician. Valet parking should also be included instead of “reduced” to $8. The valet was also rude, took forever and pulled my car far away from the entrance since there were apparently more important guests waiting while still expecting a tip. Not even worth the $8. I was also disappointed to see that they had switched the ladies’ and men’s areas since my last visit and that the ladies’ area is now smaller and more cramped than the previous area. Televisions were on in multiple areas of the lounge and did not contribute to the relaxing environment. The nickel and dime-ing is simply not what one expects from a “luxury” facility, and not what I have experienced at other such spas. I had visited this location multiple times in previous years while visiting family here, but don’t remember it being this way. Now that I’ve moved back to the area I will be finding a different place to receive my services. Disappointing.

Such an amazing massage and spa experience. Celebrating my friend's birthday, we had deep tissue massages, spent time enjoying all the spa amenities was a plus! They have snacks and tea while you wait for your massage to unwind. You can enjoy snacks and relax after as well. They are prepared for everything from cleansing cold towelttes after the hot saunas, to a cooling zone if you need more than that. They have areas to shower, then fully dry and fix your hair and makeup before heading out. The shopping area is absolutely adorable.

Spa at Oak Town – Houston, TX I flew in from Michigan for my birthday and booked a Swedish massage here, hoping for a relaxing experience. Unfortunately, it was very underwhelming from start to finish. The lounge area was cramped with barely enough space to sit comfortably. Once I got to the room, the massage table wasn’t warm, the music wasn’t relaxing, and the overall ambiance didn’t feel like a spa environment. My therapist seemed rushed and inexperienced. The pressure was inconsistent, the movements felt choppy, and she talked throughout the entire session, which made it impossible to relax. For a Swedish massage, I expected a calm, soothing experience, but this felt the opposite. I did speak up afterward. They deducted 10%, but the response I received — “next time don’t pick that therapist if you know her name” — didn’t feel professional or reassuring. Gratuity was also automatically included, which didn’t match the quality of the service. Overall, this was not the relaxing birthday experience I hoped for, and I left more tense than when I arrived. I can’t recommend this spa based on my visit.

We frequent The Houstonian Hotel, Club & Spa regularly, and we decided to try the spa at The Post Oak Hotel given all the hype. I wanted to treat my wife to a Mother’s Day facial, but overall the experience was pretty underwhelming for the price point and reputation. The facial itself was fine, and the facialist was very nice, but everything outside of the actual service missed the mark. At a luxury spa, you expect a polished and welcoming experience from start to finish — clear guidance during check-in, attentive staff, communication about amenities, and an environment that feels relaxing rather than confusing or awkward. My wife arrived about 40 minutes early for her appointment and was handed a robe and sandals and directed to a locker, but no one explained how to use or lock the locker for personal belongings. The employee who brought her there appeared distracted and offered very little guidance. She then walked toward the amenities area but was left confused about where she was supposed to wait, whether she had time to use the jacuzzi or other amenities before her appointment, or if she was expected to just sit there. No one offered water, explained the amenities, or gave any sort of tour or direction, so she ended up sitting awkwardly in a robe for about 30 minutes. Right around her scheduled appointment time, an employee informed her that she was actually supposed to wait in the “quiet zone” or zen area where facial guests are usually picked up, but because they were busy, she should just wait where she was so the facialist could come find her. About 10 minutes after the scheduled appointment time, the facialist eventually came out to the amenities area to get her. After the facial, she was finally directed to the “zen room,” which featured vibrating zero-gravity chairs that felt underwhelming for a luxury spa experience. Snacks were limited to peanut butter balls and granola, and beverages were just tea and water. The same employee from earlier eventually checked in, and my wife ordered a glass of champagne ($17). She was told it would be brought out, but after waiting about 20 minutes (while watching several other guests receive theirs) it still never arrived. She eventually had to go back to the locker room herself to ask again, and they finally brought it to her there, she drank it in the locker room. To their credit, the manager did try to make things right, which I appreciated. But overall, the experience just didn’t feel polished, attentive, or luxurious. At this price level, there are definitely better spa experiences in Houston. Unfortunately, we won’t be returning.
