On June 17, 2026, my husband and I were in downtown Houston during the World Cup 2026 looking for a place to grab drinks. We chose Irma's Southwest and had a great experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff warmly welcomed us. We watched the Portugal vs DR Congo match, which made the atmosphere even more fun. We enjoyed nachos with a variety of dips, and everything was delicious. The staff was kind, attentive, and quick to help. A highlight was the owner's wife kindly offering to take our photos, wich made our visit extra special. We left grateful for the hospitality and would definitely return-next time with our family.

Decided to give this place a try. Drinks were good, especially hibiscus margarita. Quesadilla appetizer was good but chicken fajitas did not even smell good. Overall ok experience, but definitely wont be back...

The B.W. Burger had good flavor but was over cooked. It was very dry. Yes, I know that Nilgai is a lean meat but when cook correctly it is still a bit on the juicy side. The steak fries were really good and crispy. The darker salsa was a bit on the bland side. The redder salsa was really good. The chips were nice and warm and crispy. The atmosphere was good. It was game day and the world cup was on the TV so it was a little loud but not overbearing. I had expected it to be louder. The service from the waiter was poor. He only came to the table to take our drink order, take food order, bring drinks, and bring the check. He never checked on us once. The older lady there did all the work. Refilled the drinks, cleared the table, and checked up on us. I am not a fan of that style of service. I tried to give her the tip because she did 80% of the work but she wouldn't take it. I have never been there before and wont be back. I will spend my money at the Original Irmas. At least there you feel like family from everyone. I am only in that area for games and such, but I won't go out of my way to go back. I am sure some of the other food is good. I just won't waste my time to find out.

The most incredible Mexican food I have ever eaten. This place is a must go place! The service went above and beyond when they knew it was our 1st visit. Elia, the manager, made it a truly memorable experience.

The food here was really good. I had some queso, some guac, and their salsa to start. I decided to get the burger since I was interested in the Nilgai and I’m glad I tried it! It was quite good. You could tell it wasn’t cow beef but they made a great burger out of it. High price for a fairly normal portion; that’s downtown for ya! I personally don’t really like the downtown scene. Parking sucks. Ambiance wasn’t great. Very loud. Other than that, I’m happy with the service and food.
