My first time going here and will definitely be back when I'm in the area! I love to ask the person taking my order what their favorite thing is on the menu, she was quick to say The Cowboy was her fav and it did not disappoint! They are not stingy with the toppings or serving size. Delicious, clean place, no wait and great service!

I had a wonderful experience at Taco Deli thanks to the manager, Matt! He was incredibly kind, welcoming, and genuinely made everyone feel valued. You can tell he takes pride in providing excellent customer service and creating a positive atmosphere for both customers and staff. His friendly attitude and professionalism really stood out and made my visit even better. It’s always great to see a manager who truly cares about the customer experience. First visit. Got A Shrimp taco and a Salmon tacos. Shrimp was ok w no sauce. Salmon had way too much salsa and too much spice for my liking. Also expensive and no prices on the menu so you only find out how expensive after you order.

The manager was wearing a HOMIES shirt which is first and foremost an amazing way to show your Chicano/Chicana pride and a cultural nod to a better time in our history. The 90’s were a polarizing time but nonetheless beautiful, on one hand crime, poverty, classism, and republican agendas couldn’t have been more prevalent alongside doom stories to inspire you to fear your neighbor and lock your doors, and on the other side culture, music, protest, and art pretty much bled together and counterculture movements starting standing for something. How this is relevant: The "Homies" are a legendary line of 2-inch collectible vinyl figures originally created by Chicano artist David Gonzales in the late 1990s. Inspired by Richmond, California's barrio culture and lowrider scenes, the toys became a massive urban phenomenon, moving over 150 million units through quarter vending machines nationwide. Lowriders, Aztlan culture, Ben Davis, Dickies, Locs, white tees, dark makeup aesthetic: all of these things took root in the late 50’s to reclaim heritage for the youth and a people who felt like most whom dance long enough with capitalism and first world ideologies lose everything important and beautiful about them. Homogenization is never a good thing and it takes a brave person to throw that flag out there and be proud. Texas was a part of Mexico long before the war, and it takes a certain kind of evil to win the land dispute and turn around and make it basically illegal to be Chicano. Taco deli keeps that kind of spirit alive by offering exquisite and intelligent pairings and new takes on classic texmex fare. They also have Mexican cokes which are the best and it’s not up for debate, aqua frescas which is just fruit and waiter, and of course strong drink in the form of spirits or brewed beverages. Seating is fine on any given day and there is also outside patio options to enjoy your meal. The staff is extremely approachable and courteous which puts you at ease right away. You’d think because of its location that it’s only high priced overrated food for the bloated, decadent, and overpaid but that couldn’t be farther from the truth, and the ingredients are top notch. I recommend trying to queso and the Doña salsa verde only in that it’s green but creamy. If you’re in the area or just hungry for some solid options give Tacodeli your business with three strategically placed locations across the city, if you create an account you get a free taco also. A wonderful spot to go with family or friends. Fantastic food that is served very quickly. Even gave our kids some chips free of charge! Would definitely recommend this place anyone who likes authentic mexican food!
