Went to The Ginger Mule for a birthday dinner and it was absolutely delicious. Our server Colby was attentive and kind and made good recommendations, and our non-vegan friends seemed genuinely surprised and happy with all their dishes. I got the sesame ginger noodles which was AMAZING, and my wife tried the ceviche which was very flavorful and refreshing. Crab puffs (not pictured) are my favorite appetizer but I’m really glad we tried the spicy edamame as well, really good flavor (and not as spicy as Blue Sushi Sake Grill, which are delicious but a little too much heat for me 😅) The enchiladas and supreme pizza looked really good, I want to try those next time- and the guava cheesecake and brownie were delicious 🤤

Firstly, the service and atmosphere are great. The 3 stars is solely food based. I think it's terrific that everything is vegan but the food wasn't seasoned. It lacked flavor. The table next to us asked for salt 🧂 and I knew why when my food came. We ordered quite a few dishes and of the 6 of us, no one loved their dish. Two positives are they were beautifully presented and had good quality fresh ingredients. The brussel sprouts were tasty. The oyster mushrooms were another favorite of the group. If I went again I would try the Fried Rice your way or the avocado toast. What to get: Brussel sprouts, sweet potato 🍠 fries, oyster mushrooms What not to get: Green broth soup

Out one evening with a friend who is vegetarian so decided to take her here. I’m not vegetarian but I still enjoy good food and Ginger mule didn’t disappoint. This may be my new go-to vegan spot. Had a few appetizers and each were excellent and the Matcha Mojito (non alcoholic) was very good. Pretty reasonably priced as well and ambiance was on point.

We ordered fried rice and mushroom sandwich for main. Sandwich was alright but the rice was absolutely disaster. No flavors at all so tasteless. Come one fried rice is the easiest food to make. Adding Oil and all ingredients + salt + sauce ( soy sauce, vegan oyster sauce, sweet soy sauce) + white pepper. Trust me it can’t go wrong. Pumpkin soup was average. Anyway service and environment was excellent but foods need to be improved.

The food is so good that you won’t believe it’s an all vegan restaurant! I was amazed by the wide variety of menu options for appetizers, specialty entrees, pizzas, sides, salads and dessert; there’s something bound to peak your interest, regardless of your taste palate, and even something to cater to your kids as well. The reason for the one star short of five is due to some particular experiences during my visit. We had a group of six for brunch and was charged a 20% premium for gratuity while receiving minimal service in comparison to any other table. The 20% up charge was automatically included in our checks without explicit advanced notice when we were seated nor when we were asked to swipe our cards. Additionally, I joined the group late to order food to go about ten minutes before we left the restaurant together, and I was still automatically charged 20% premium, which we felt was unreasonable. Given that some of us were unaware of the automatically included gratuity, we all paid extra tips on top of the charged amounts, which in retrospect was unnecessary. Overall, we had hoped for more transparency and less up-charge for such a small group; typically other restaurants have up-charge for maybe 10 or more people and that’s usually communicated before being seated. One additional tip I have would be to keep stocks available for weekend demands. I had my eyes set on the truffle mushroom pizza but was told at 11am on a Sunday that they were already all out of pizza for the day, and the day had barely begun at 10am given their opening time. However, generally I will say the impression of the food and restaurant is positive. Everyone at our table enjoyed their orders, and the vegetarian in our group is definitely going to be returning to this location again for the great flavor options available. I tried the patacones, which is new to the menu, and would highly recommend. I especially appreciated that the packing for the to-go box was just as aesthetically pleasing as it would’ve been served on the plate. There’s also option to dine indoors or outdoors, which is a nice to have in Houston for those occasional perfect weather days.
