J.A.M. is among the best Vietnamese food in Houston. Must try’s: the fish sauce wings, the crab udon soup, and the cocktails. Go on Tuesdays and Thursdays 4-7pm for happy hour cocktails- 2 cocktails for $16. The cocktails are amazing. The pho cocktail is a must, the egg coffee cocktail is perfect if you love espresso martinis, and the lychee cocktail was probably the best lychee martini I’ve had. The service is top-notch. Extremely friendly staff who made the experience super enjoyable. The food came out quickly, and we didn’t have a wait when we came on a weeknight. Our server also gave us complimentary shrimp chips and a dessert- no promises it’ll happen to you, but it made for a lovely overall dining experience. 10/10, can’t wait to come back!

Flavour, flavour, flavour… Service and atmosphere: Good service from beginning to the end. The staff were polite and respectful. The restaurant looked modern and had clean and inviting aesthetics. They offer open bar seats as well. Food and drinks: Very good selection in both areas. The menu is designed very nicely. It has great food and cocktails pictures with short yet informative descriptions. The best part, the drinks and food served looked like the pictures on the menu! The food was super flavoursome, well seasoned and balanced. All ingredients worked well with each other. The northern style pho broth was delicious. Same goes for the pho with bone marrow. Pricing: $$ - worth the price considering quality and presentation of foods and drinks served.

Overall: 4.1/5 [dine in] Great food and drink presentation, wonderful staff and service, and a nice chill atmosphere. A lot of reviews highlighted the presentation and they weren't wrong, but I will say the flavors weren't as bold as I was expecting from Vietnamese food. A solid spot overall. They started us off with complimentary shrimp chips and they were delicious and dangerously addicting. Massive crunch factor, though some pieces were a bit oily. Banh Canh Cua / Crab Udon ($16.90): Lots of seafood. The crab lumps and sliced pork were the highlights and the broth was good too. Regular Saigon Oi / Broken Rice Dish ($20.90): The rice plate was huge with a good amount of delicious veggies. The pork chop, shrimp, and Chinese sausage were all solid. The rice was a bit dry so you will want to soak it in the nuoc cham. The egg cake was overcooked though. Banh Trang Nuong / VN Pizza ($11.50): Our least favorite item of the meal. The banh trang crust was super hard and really difficult to bite through, and cutting it was a pain. The toppings were generous though and I liked that the quail eggs were runny. Pho Bac / Pho Cocktail ($14): A combination of pho fat infused tequila reposado and Thai chili infused mezcal with a big Thai basil garnish. I actually liked this one more than the other cocktail. The flavors were subtle and easy to drink. Dung Chut La Qua / Egg Coffee Martini ($14): Great concept but the execution needs some work. I wasn't a fan of the coffee liqueur they used since it left a bad aftertaste. The egg foam was good though and not too sweet. Banh Bot Chien / Crispy Rice Cake ($12): The rice cake was a bit bland and only lightly crisp so you definitely need the sauce. The egg was fluffy and I liked the Chinese sausage with the pickled carrots and daikon. My husband appreciated the novelty of it since the way they prepared the egg was different from what we usually see.

We had a really great experience at J.A.M Viet Kitchen & Bar. We started with the popcorn chicken and Cajun fries, which were crispy, flavorful, and perfect for sharing. The complimentary chips were a nice surprise and something everyone at the table enjoyed. For our main dishes, we ordered the beef fried rice, combination pho, and special pho. Everything came out hot and tasted fresh. The pho broth was especially impressive, very flavorful and comforting. The special pho came with bone marrow, which was absolutely delicious and added so much depth to the soup. The service was great and super friendly, which made the experience even better. Everything we tried was really good, and you can tell care goes into the food. This is a great spot for comforting and tasty Vietnamese dishes, and we will definitely be coming back.

We had lunch here on Friday and really enjoyed the experiecne. Egg Coffee was delicious and the food was on point. We had the lemon/garlic wings, Pho Special (w/bone & marrow) with the rice cake plate. All was great as was the service. Nice, clean establishment and their music choice creates a nice relaxed vibe. Plan to return for sure.
