All I can say is wow! Jasmine and Victor were THE best hosts I’ve had at a Houston restaurant. Not only did they seat us right away, but they made us feel so welcome during the entire experience. Jasmine and Victor sat us in the most romantic area and were so attentive to our dietary preferences, allergies, and questions. They went through the entirety of the menu and recommended their favorites from it. We ordered the chicken dumplings, tofu curry, and spicy stir fry chicken, which were all seasoned perfectly and 10/10. Jasmine was so kind and spoke to us as if we’ve known her for years. We will definitely be coming back because of those two, the wonderful service, and food!

This place has a really beautiful vibe the patio is easily the highlight. It's lush, relaxing, and feels like a perfect spot for a nice lunch or a casual date. I came for lunch and ordered the garlic noodles with medium rare beef and the chicken dumplings. Unfortunately, the food didn't quite match the setting. The dumplings were a bit overcooked the wrapper was falling apart and the filling had a slightly rubbery texture. The beef itself was good, but the garlic noodles were just okay and didn't really stand out, especially for the price. Service was also on the slower side and a bit inattentive not sure if it was because I was alone? This added to the overall experience. I'd definitely come back for the ambiance alone because the space is gorgeous, but I'm not sure I'd return specifically for the food.

The best part of this restaurant was definitely the dessert — honestly one of the best desserts I’ve ever had. The sweetness level was perfect, not too much and not too little. The biggest disappointment was the duck. I expected it to be flavorful and properly prepared without that strong duck smell, but it tasted really bad to me. The meat itself was okay, but definitely not impressive. The shrimp was decent and the alcohol was fine too. The waitress was friendly, chill, and easy to talk to. The atmosphere was okay overall, but considering the prices, I really don’t think the experience was worth the money.

I celebrated my birthday at Le Colonial last week and the night was perfect! The service was fantastic and made the whole evening feel really special. For starters, we ordered the crispy shrimp and pork roll and the pan-seared chicken dumplings, which were both delicious. For dinner I had the glazed pork rib — the one thing I specifically wanted for my birthday — and it lives up to the hype every single time! We finished the night with a Queen Bee vodka lemon drop martini, which was the perfect way to end the evening. Such a great spot for a celebration or just a really nice dinner out in Houston. I’ll be back ASAP!

We visited Le Colonial on Valentine’s Day with reservations and high expectations, but the evening felt uneven. We were initially seated in a less desirable area and later moved, then informed that only a preset menu was available, which was disappointing for a first visit. The sea bass was excellent and the oysters were a highlight, though it was surprising that we could not order additional oysters, even when a neighboring table asked as well. Service felt rushed and required repeated requests for small items, and the dessert presentation took place slightly behind us, making it difficult for everyone at the table to fully enjoy it. An automatic 20 percent gratuity was added for our party of two. While we absolutely believe in tipping, the service did not reflect that level. The manager was pleasant, listened attentively, and adjusted it, which we appreciated. However, when the corrected receipt was returned, it was placed down in a noticeably irritated manner by our waiter. The most disappointing part of the evening came at the end. Standing in the rain waiting for valet assistance, I could not help but feel overlooked and unwelcome, as if my presence and my patronage carried less value. I had to request the umbrella as others did not need to ask. In a space where hospitality should feel effortless and inclusive, leaving without even the basic courtesy of an umbrella left a lasting impression that no guest should walk away with.
